Lord, help me to set my face like a flint

Oct 26, 2023

"Set your face like a flint toward a sweeping transformation of your life. Timid experimenters are tagged for failure before they start. We must throw our whole soul into our desire for God."

—AW Tozer

"But the LORD God helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame". Isaiah 50:7

Compassion During Conflict in Ukraine

August 18, 2023

The Nazarene church has been working with Ukrainian refugees since the second day of the war.  This video shows the work that has already been done and what is still in progress.  We are eager for you to join us in this great work that has already begun in Poland in meeting the needs of refugees.

A New Season

August 1, 2023

I often wonder when we are stepping into something new what the importance of the previous seasons is.  What lessons do we want to take from our mistakes and what things are we thankful for coming out of that season? When we are in the season it can be hard to see it all.

While we are making a literal move across the world I can see the similarities of what is happening in my home and what is happening in my heart.  I feel I am going through things to take with me and things to let go of.  There are things to be thankful for and cherish.  There are also things we carry with us to the new place.  I believe God is so creative and intentional that he speaks to us in all kinds of ways, and in the moving He is speaking.

Since coming back from our last time on the mission field there has been a lot of reflecting.  The time during Covid also aided in that time of reflection. There has been a purifying of the heart and motivations.  The Lord does not waste any experience.  He will go through the unpacking with us and will tell us what to take and what to let go of.  He is such a good Father.  He has mostly asked me to be thankful for it ALL, even the difficult parts (maybe especially the difficult parts).  There has been a call to be thankful for the good that can be found everywhere around us. No matter where He leads us we have the privilege of His presence.

“I will lead blind Israel down a new path, guiding them along an unfamiliar way. I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them. Yes, I will indeed do these things; I will not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16 NLT
